Learn more while learning a language
There is a great range of language courses available that combine learning the language in the country concerned, with studying something else. That something else could be cooking, for example. Studying Spanish in Madrid and coming back with the ability to whip up a proper paella or a truly spanish spanish omelette might appeal.
What about combining French lessons with skiing lessons in the French Alps?
Or another classic combination is learning Portuguese and dance together in Brazil.
Or maybe you know someone who could do with improving their English, while painting and ‘making art’ on a course in Prague?
In this world of multi-tasking and shortening attention spans, why spend your holiday doing one thing, when you could cram at least two things into the same time? Plus you’re more likely to retain a language if you learn it in an active and practical way. (I haven’t got anything to substantiate that, so possibly that’s one for discussion below!)
