5,000 mile drive for the RNLI

Adrian Tomkies with his £100 rally car flying the RNLI flag
Two British men are set to drive 5,000 miles from the UK to Almaty in Kazakhstan in the London to Tashkent Rally.
Adrian Tomkies from Bristol and Ian Sutton from Plymouth aim to raise money for the RNLI and Guide Dogs for the Blind.
The event is particularly unusual in that participants cars must cost less than £100 to buy and must be auctioned off for charity when they finish.
Adrian and Ian are driving an L reg Ford Mondeo which is about 15 years old.
The route sounds fascinating and not a little daunting, taking in the Nurburgring race track, Chernobyl, Stalingrad, a desert, the Aval sea and a working space launch site.
